The youngest of five children, Blake Christina Lively was born to a family of actors. Her parents, Ernie and Elaine, as well as her two sisters and two brothers have been, or are still in the entertainment industry.

Being home-schooled at one point of her life as a child, Lively claims in an interview that she had attended thirteen schools in all. After her brother made his agent send her out on few auditions, she got a part in "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" in 2005, wherein she starred alongside Alexis Bledel, Amber Tamblyn, and America Ferrera.

She won a Choice Movie Breakout - Female award at the 2005 Teen Choice Award. She reprised her role with the rest of the cast in its 2008 sequel, "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2."

Lively received another award in 2006, when she accepted the Breakthrough Award from Hollywood Life for her role in the comedy film "Accepted."

She was cast in The CW series "Gossip Girl" in 2007. She plays former party girl Serena van der Woodsen, her most recognized role to date.

She is dating co-star Penn Badgely, who was also her classmate during her home-schooled years.
