In the 1970's Brinkley moved with her family to Bel Air, California, and attended school at le Lycée Français de Los Angeles. After finishing school, Brinkley moved to Paris, where she was discovered as a model by a photographer. Brinkley's career took off, with the model working countless runway shows, appearing on magazine covers, and working as a spokeswoman. In 1976, Brinkley signed a contract with Cover Girl, whom she still works with as a spokeswoman for their mature skin products. She has also appeared on three Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue covers. In 1992, Brinkley hosted a short-lived television series on CNN entitled Living in the '90s with Christie Brinkley. The model's personal life currently is fodder for the tabloids. Brinkley is in the midst of divorcing her fourth husband Peter Cook. The divorce proceedings revealed Cook committed adultery with an eighteen year old, as well as spent thousands of dollars per month on internet pornography. Brinkley's first marriage to Jean-Francois Allaux ended in a divorce in 1981. Brinkley married Billy Joel in 1985 and had her first child Alexa Ray Joel. The model had her second child Jack Paris with her third husband Richard Taubman and her third child Sailor Less with Peter Cook.
