Edward "Ed" Westwick was born in England to father Peter, a business lecturer, and mother Carole, an educational psychologist. Ed is the youngest of three sons.

He began training in acting at an early age, attending the National Youth Theatre in London. He then went on to study at North Herfordshire College.

He made his debut on the British television series "Doctors" playing the character Holden. He also appeared on the series "Casualty" as Johnny Cullin and "Afterlife" as Darren.

He took on his first role on the big screen while in college in "Breaking and Entering" as Zoran, directed by the late Anthony Minghella. His next role was in "Children of Men" as Alex. He also appeared in "Son of Rambow," taking on the role of Lawrence Carter.

Westwick became well-known to American audiences for his role as Chuck Bass in "Gossip Girl." In 2008, he was nominated twice by the Teen Choice Awards for his role as Chuck as Choice TV Star Male, but won the award for Choice TV Villain.

His next appearance is set to be in the sequel to "Donnie Darko" as Randy in 2009 and the horror film "100 Feet."

Westwick is also a musician, as a front man for the British rock band "The Filthy Youth," playing alongside Benjamin Lewis Allingham, Jimmy Wright, Mitch Cox and John Vooght.

It was recently announced that Westwick will be the new face of endorsement for K-Swiss.

He currently lives in New York City with fellow "Gossip Girl" co-star Chace Crawford. The tabloids claim that Westwick is dating "Gossip Girl" co-star Jessica Szohr and the two were photographed kissing in 2009 in New York.
