Actress Eva Mendes reportedly may have checked herself into a rehab clinic in January to prepare herself for a new role where she plays a Spanish drug lord.

Actress Eva Mendes spent several weeks in rehab for "personal issues" and after leaving the facility said she is happy, relaxed, exercising and taking good care of herself. The actress entered Utah's Cirque Lodge earlier this year for what her rep called "outside professional support."

Eva Mendes temporarily left rehab to visit her boyfriend.
