| Isla Lang Fisher is an Australian actress and author. Fisher was born in Muscat, Oman to Scottish Presbyterian parents, and now resides in Los Angeles with her fiancé, English comedian Sacha Baron Cohen. Fisher grew up in Perth, Western Australia and earned her acting credentials as the character of Shannon on the popular TV soapie Home and Away. In 2002, she had a part in Scooby-Doo as Mary-Jane, Shaggy's love interest. A larger role in Wedding Crashers in 2005 won her the Breakthrough Performance Award at the MTV Movie Awards. While promoting the film Wedding Crashers, she was officially crowned the 1000th guest on Australian talk show Rove Live on August 2, 2005. She entered the set ahead of Wilson, thereby winning the title by a mere two meters. It was reported that she has recently converted to Judaism, in order to marry Cohen, who is Jewish. | |||||||||||||
