In 1987, Law began his acting career at the National Youth Music Theatre. In 1995, the actor moved on to Broadway to star in the play Indiscretions, a role that earned him a Tony Award nomination.
The actor's first major film role was in the biopic Wilde. This earned Law the "Most Promising Newcomer" award from the Evening Standard British Film Awards. Law also starred in "Gattaca," Clint Eastwood's "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil", "Alfie" and "Road to Perdition."
Law earned two Academy Award nominations; Best Supporting Actor in the 1999 film "The Talented Mr. Ripley" and Best Actor in the 2003 film "Cold Mountain."
In 2004, People Magazine named Jude Law the Sexiest Man Alive. Law is currently working on the sci-fi comedy "Repossession Mambo," also starring Forest Whitaker. In 2009, Law will return to the London stage to play the title role in Shakespeare's "Hamlet."
Law was married to actress Sadie Frost from 1997 to 2003. The couple had four children: Finlay, Rafferty, Iris, and Rudy. In 2004, Law became engaged to Sienna Miller, his co-star in the movie "Alfie." The couple broke up, however, in November 2006.
