Singer Justin Timberlake's career has kept him in the spotlight as a mouseketeer, a member of a boy band, boyfriend to a pop princess and part of a Super Bowl halftime show that sparked world-wide controversy. In addition to being a singer, Timberlake is a songwriter, record producer, dancer and actor and has won six Grammy Awards and an Emmy.

Timberlake joined "The Mickey Mouse Club" in 1993 with other future stars Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and JC Chasez. His life changed, however, when he joined the 1990s boy band 'N Sync and became a teen idol. The group, which also included fellow mouseketeer Chasez, released what is considered to be the fastest selling album of all time, "No Strings Attached" in 2000.

In 2002, 'N Sync decided to take a break and Timberlake started work on his first solo album "Justified" which went on to sell over 7 million copies worldwide. His tour for the album was called "Justified/Stripped Tour" and featured Christina Aguilera, another former mouseketeer.

In 2002 Timberlake performed at the MTV Video Music Awards where he premiered his first single "Like I Love You." He also appeared on the 2003 MTV Europe Music Awards show where he performed with the group The Black Eyed Peas.

At the end of 2003 Timberlake recorded a song called "I'm Lovin' It" which was used as a theme song in the McDonald's I'm Lovin' It campaign. It is reported that the deal with McDonald's earned Timberlake $6 million.

In 2004 Timberlake's career took an interesting turn when he performed live on the halftime show of Super Bowl XXXVIII on CBS. He performed with Janet Jackson before an estimated 140 million viewers and at the end of the performance Timberlake tore off a part of Jackson's leather top, briefly revealing her breast.

The incident coined the term "wardrobe malfunction" which is now considered a pop culture reference.

Timberlake apologized for the Super Bowl incident, claiming it was not suppose to happen. CBS was fined $550,000 for the incident.

Also as a result of the halftime show, Timberlake and Jackson were banned from the 2004 Grammy Awards unless they agreed to apologize onscreen during the show. Jackson refused to do so, however Timberlake issued a scripted apology while receiving the first of two Grammy Awards he received that night. He won Best Pop Vocal Album for "Justified" and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for the song "Cry Me a River."

Following the Super Bowl experience, Timberlake decided to pursue acting, and although he appeared in several films he eventually returned to music.

Timberlake's second solo album "Future Sex/Love Sounds" debuted in 2006 and earned the number one position on the Billboard chart. When he performed the album's lead single "SexyBack" on the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards the song reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and remained there for seven consecutive weeks.

In February 2008, Timberlake won two more Grammy Awards for Male Pop Performance Award for "What Goes Around...Comes Around" and the Dance Recording Award for "LoveStoned/I Think She Knows."

Timberlake was born in Memphis, Tennessee on January 31, 1981 and began his career singing country music songs on "Star Search." Although he didn't win, his music has taken him far.

Timberlake dated pop star Britney Spears for over many years and they both grew up in front of the world with their romance followed by the nation. The song "Cry Me A River" from Timberlake's Justified album refers to their breakup.

Following Spears, he dated actress-dancer Jenna Dewan, actress Alyssa Milano and then actress Cameron Diaz. The couple dated for several years under constant speculation from the media that they had split. They finally called it quits in January of 2007 and Timberlake was last linked to actress Jessica Biel.
