| Perrette was born in New Orleans and raised all over the southern United States. Perrette embarked on her current role: she plays Abby Sciuto, an eccentric forensic scientist, on the TV series NCIS, a TV series based on the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. She also appeared as a waitress at Cafe Nervosa in Frasier during season 4, and later guest starred in Season One of 24. In addition to being an actress, Perrette is also a writer, singer, photographer, blogger and a poet. She was the lead singer in the Los Angeles based all female band Lo-Ball. Perrette supports many charity organizations, including animal rescue, the American Red Cross, civil rights and gay rights. She was married for five years to musician Coyote Shivers.
