The tickets to the group's London reunion show, their first time together in nine years sold out in 38 seconds.

"It was a dramatic moment. The sales went live and there was a huge surge as fans bombarded the lines." TicketMaster head Chris Edmonds said.

More than 1 million people registered for the concert to be played London's O2 Arena, according to the show's promoters, who added three more London dates to accommodate the demand.

This tour will mark the first time the entire group will have performed together since 1998, when Geri Halliwel, aka "Ginger Spice," quit, citing "differences." The band also includes Victoria "Posh" Beckham, Melanie "Scary" Brown, Emma "Baby" Bunton and Melanie "Sporty" Chisholm.

The Spice Girls first conquered the world after their manager, American Idol creator Simon Fuller, launched their first catchy tune, "Wannabe" in 1996.

The group experienced phenomenal success, selling more than 55 million records, and even starring in a 1997 film about them, called Spice World.

After much speculation, in June the British girl band announced their plans to do an 11-show world tour.
