Velvet Revolver front man Scott Weiland denies DUI charges filed against him after he crashed his car.

The former Stone Temple Pilots singer was driving on a California state highway when he had the accident on November 21. He was arrested after an officer noticed "signs of impairment" and failed field sobriety tests.

40-year-old Weiland was taken to custody where he reportedly refused to take blood or urine test. He was released on a $40,000 bail.

The singer's publicist, Kristine Ashton-Magnuson admits being involved in a minor accident but denies the DUI (driving under the influence) charge.

"He voluntary took a breathalyzer test which the defense believes registers well within the legal limit. He is anxious to get to court and clear this matter up."

It was not specified if Weiland rebuffed driving under the influence of drugs or of alcohol.
