Jake Spending Time With Reese's Kids

Jake Gyllenhaal has taken lover Reese Witherspoon's children hiking.

The couple took turns holding hands with the actress' two children - daughter Ava, eight, and four-year-old son Deacon - as they walked around a Malibu park on December 30.

A source said, "Reese's kids have really taken a shine to Jake. They were laughing and joking with him and Reese. At one point, Jake even carried Deacon on his shoulders as they hiked along a trail. They all looked very happy together."

This is not the first time Jake has shown his commitment to Reese and her kids.

Jake, 27, accompanied the Oscar-winning actress and her children trick or treating last Halloween.

The couple waited on the sidewalk and flirted while Deacon and Ava - whose father is actor Ryan Phillippe - collected candy.

A source said, "Jake tapped Reese on the butt and then she hit him back - they began running round in a circle and were hitting each other! Then Jake picked Reese up off her feet and she screamed."

Reese and Jake met on the set of their film "Rendition" last year but did not go public with their romance until October.
