Eddie Murphy Already Out On The Rebound

Eddie Murphy was spotted canoodling with a mystery woman in his first public appearance since splitting from 'wife' Tracey Edmonds. The 'Shrek' star - who parted ways from film producer Edmonds earlier this month - attended the opening of new Las Vegas nightclub The Bank on Saturday night.

Onlookers claim the actor paid particular attention to one female member of his entourage and at one point rubbed her leg. One told People magazine: "They looked pretty keen on each other and when they sat down, they were surrounded by a wall of security so nobody could see what was going on."

Murphy, who wore sunglasses, sipped water at a VIP table and danced only occasionally before leaving after an hour. The 'Beverly Hills Cop' star and his mystery date then went to the Prive Las Vegas bar where they walked in hand-in-hand to a VIP table.

Last week, it was claimed Murphy and Edmonds broke up because she refused to sign a pre-nuptial agreement. The couple - who had an unofficial 'marriage' on a French Polynesian private island off the coast of Bora Bora on New Year's Day - argued over money before their official U.S. wedding.

A source said: "They always intended to make their marriage official with a U.S. ceremony, but when it came down to the legal marriage, Tracey wouldn't sign a prenup."

Eddie is one of Hollywood's highest earning stars, and received $15.5 million for starring in 'Norbit'.
