Valerie Bertinelli Admits Cheating On Eddie Van Halen

She's no girl-next-door anymore. Valerie Bertinelli comes clean and sheds her good girl image in an interview with Oprah Winfrey. The 47-year-old actress admits to the Queen of Talk that she had cheated on ex-husband Eddie Van Halen as he also did the same.

"I cheated," Bertinelli confesses to Oprah. "He claims to this day that I cheated first, but I don't know. I don't know about the timing."

The actress, probably most known as the smart and nice Barbara Jean Cooper on comedy series 'One Day At A Time,' married rocker Van Halen in April 1981. They had been known as the ultimate 'bad boy meets good girl' couple. They claimed they had separated since 2001 but filed divorce in 2005 and was finalized December 2007.

The actress also tells Oprah that she's now friends with her ex. She shared how Van Halen, being a bad boy in the public's eye, wanted to take their relationship slow at first.

"He didn't want to sleep with you?" Oprah asked.

"I know. I wanted to sleep with him, and he wanted to talk to my dad first."

Bertinelli is currently promoting her new book, 'Losing It And Gaining My Life Back One Pound At A Time,' in which she talks about losing weight among other things. She is a spokesperson for the Jenny Craig Weight Loss Program.
