Prince Harry Talks About Going To Afghanistan

February 29, 2008 07:20 am CST

Prince Harry opens up about his deployment to Afghanistan and how he thinks Diana would have felt.

"Hopefully, she would be proud," the third in the line of succession to the throne says of his late mother to the press.

"She would be looking down having a giggle about the stupid things that I've been doing, like going left when I should have gone right, finding myself in an awkward position earlier today."

The 23-year-old royal prince also shares what his older brother William feels about his military move. "William sent me a letter saying how proud the reckons that she would be."

"You know, it's one thing that I don't necessarily think about the whole time because I've got the guys to worry about. You worry about yourself, you worry about the blokes you're looking after, you worry about the blokes that you're not even looking after."

The Queen also has some encouraging words to say to him, which made the Prince proud of his "amazing" grandmother.

"She was very 'pro' me going. She's a very good person to talk to about it, her knowledge of the army is amazing for a grandmother. I suppose it's slightly her job."
