Comedian and actress Kathy Griffin has added a new dimension to the characters she portrays: minister. Griffin, who has also been a talk show host, became ordained as a minister online and performed a wedding in New York for two fans.

Griffin, 47, said two fans, Brian Anstey and Elka Shapiro, requested that she officiate at their wedding. Griffin flew in from Los Angeles to perform the 10-minute ceremony that ranged from telling raunchy jokes to having the bride recite the reception menu.

Fans of Griffin's reality show, "My Life on the D-List," will be able to see the ceremony for themselves in June when an episode involving the wedding airs on the Bravo Channel.

Griffin said she was ordained by the Universal Life Church and complete additional paperwork to meet requirements of the state of New York.

Her fans, Anstey, 31, is a fifth-grade teacher and Shapiro, 29, is a marketing director and neither are affiliated with a religion.
