50 Cent pens book about bullying

June 21, 2011 50 Cent, Eminem, Dr. Dre

Los Angeles, CA, United States (Celebrity News Service) - 50 Cent has feuded with other artists and has even been accused of having homophobic and misogynistic lyrics. But the rapper turned actor is now working on a book about the negatives of bullying.

Titled "Playground," the book revolves around a 13-year-old bully who, according to publisher Razorbill, "finds redemption as he faces what he's done." It's targeted to a young adult audience.

"I had a strong desire to write 'Playground' because I wanted to explore how a kid becomes a bully," 50 Cent said in a statement. "I drew on events from my own childhood and adolescence, but was excited to see the story take on its own life. This book would have been very helpful for me growing up and now that I have a teenage son, it is my goal that this will have a positive influence on all teenagers."

"Playground" is 50 Cent's third book, following 2005's autobiographical "From Pieces to Weight" and 2008's "The 50th Law." It's set to hit stores in January 2012.

Meanwhile, 50 Cent is also aiming to have his latest album in stores for the holiday shopping season. It's set to feature a collaboration with Eminem, while 50 recently went into the studio to collaborate with Dr. Dre for his next single off the upcoming "Detox."
