Maksim Chmerkovskiy is busting moves and breaking hearts as one of the heartthrob dancers of "Dancing with the Stars" in the U.S. But now he's heading over to the Ukraine to star in a new version of another hit ABC show, "The Bachelor."

Maks broke the news on his blog last month, where he made sure to let everyone know he doesn't 'dislike' American woman and how he thought long and hard about this decision to go looking for love in front of the cameras in his native Ukraine.

"I know it's hard to find someone you can connect to on a project like this, but nothing is impossible," he said in a blog posting. "For the sake of the show I can't reveal anything, but I must say I am very pleasantly surprised so far."

He also counts down a bunch of reasons as to why he's doing the show, including that he's physically worn from years and years of dancing, the first season of such a show wouldn't be filled with people looking for their 15 minutes of fame, and he gets to go back to his home for a while where he's seen as an idol.

But besides all that, he doesn't care what you think! "This might be the most important reason of all, this is the first thing in a VERY LONG TIME that I'm doing something for ME," he says. "For the first time, I don't really care what people think."

Oh and he says Brandy helped him get through that last season of "Dancing with the Stars," where they almost bopped all the way to the top. "The person that helped me was Brandy and for that I am forever grateful to her," he adds. "She truly was a god-send. I will never forget everything she did for me."

I'm sure she wasn't a bad person to talk to about joining the Ukraine's "Bachelor" series either. She was a frequent staple of her brother's own dating show, VH1's "For the Love of Ray J."

The Ukraine's version of "The Bachelor," which we'll be sure to import in all its subtitled goodness, will premiere later in the year.
