"DWTS" Pro Dancer Karina Smirnoff Announces Engagement

"Dancing with the Stars" dancing pro Karina Smirnoff is a fiancée again. The 32-year-old ballroom dancing champ has revealed that she is engaged to her baseball player boyfriend Brad Penny.

Smirnoff showed off her engagement ring Saturday at the fifth anniversary for TAO in Las Vegas. According to usmagazine.com, since Penny couldn't be at the event, he sent his soon-to-be bride an Everlon Diamond Knot necklace in a fortune cookie.

He asked for her hand in marriage last month after Smirnoff performed the foxtrot with Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino on the ABC dancing competition show.

She told the magazine, "I was in the middle of the show and had no clue what was cooking behind my back. The dinner meeting was set up at restaurant in Malibu. When [my manager and I] got there, it was completely empty. She excused herself to take a call and while I was sitting there alone, Brad came in."

"I had crazy hair and black lipstick on and was just concerned about looking like the Bride of Frankenstein. Even after Brad got down to one knee and opened the box with the ring, it still didn't register."

Smirnoff's romance with Penny got public after splitting from fellow "DWTS" professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy, to whom she was previously engaged.
