"Frasier" Star Kelsey Grammar Suffers Mild Heart Attack

June 2, 2008

Kelsey Grammar, known for his roles on "Cheers" and "Frasier," is recovering in a Hawaii hospital after a mild heart attack on Saturday, said his publicist, Stan Rosenfield.

The 53-year-old actor experienced symptoms while paddle-boarding with his wife, Camille, at their Hawaiian home and was immediately taken to a local hospital.

He is "resting comfortably" and is expected to be released early this week, Rosenfield said.

Rosenfield said he is unaware of any history of heart trouble for Grammar, according to The Associated Press.

Grammar most recently starred in the Fox sitcom "Back to You." Grammar said last month that Fox was dropping the sitcom.
