"Lost" Star Jorge Garcia's Dog Died In His Arms

June 2, 2010 Jorge Garcia, Heart

"Lost" star Jorge Garcia is mourning the death of his dog. Nunu, the 37-year-old actor's Chihuahua, died in his arms after she was struck by a car while they were preparing to go to the airport.

Garcia took to his blog, Dispatches from the Island, to announce the sad news.

He wrote: "It breaks my heart to tell you that yesterday as we were preparing to all go to the airport Nunu was struck by a car as she crossed the street. She died in my arms."

"We are buying her in the Pet Gardens at Valley of the Temples in Kaneohe. Nunu hated the water so we couldn't bring ourselves to having her ashes scattered in the ocean. Three months from now you'll be able to find a bronze plaque inscribed with just her name there. If you'd like to leave a flower or a toy, I'm sure she'd love it."

Garcia frequently wrote about Nunu on his blog, particularly the stuff she liked to chew, including rubber cockroaches, stuffed toys, her own foot, and his pants. He planned to adopt a dog from the Humane Society in the state, but changed his mind when he saw Nunu at a pet shop.
