"Twilight" star Nikki Reed gets engaged to "American Idol" finalist Paul McDonald

Los Angeles, CA, United States (Celebrity News Service) - "Twilight" star Nikki Reed and raspy-voiced "American Idol" finalist Paul McDonald only met in March, in front of television cameras at that, and they're already taking their relationship to the next step.

Reed hit the MTV Movie Awards red carpet on Sunday showing off a ring on her finger, confirming sources that have reported that the couple is newly engaged.

"He's the one," Reed told E! while on the red carpet.

McDonald will be hitting the road soon with the rest of the "American Idol" gang, including winner Scotty McCreery and runner-up Lauren Alaina, for the "American Idols Live" tour.

In the meantime, Reed told E! that he's working on songs all about his new beau. "He says he's going to release a Nikki Reed EP," she said.

Reed reprises her role as Rosalie in the upcoming "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn," hitting theaters in November, which features its own big wedding between Bella and Edward.
