Adele voted top pop gay icon

Adele was voted Pop Artist of the year by listeners of a gay radio station. The 23-year old won 55 percent of the 4,000 votes edging out her recent rival lady Gaga who only managed 19 per cent of the votes. Gareth Thomas was voted Celebrity of the Year.

“Adele has numerous Grammys and Brits, but this is the accolade she’s been waiting for”, Gaydar’s programme controller Robin Crowley said.

Adele’s latest achievement comes after claims were made that Lady Gaga hates Adele after she swept the Grammys. Some sources said Gaga felt that her career may have been plateaued and eclipsed by Adele.
