Alec Baldwin shuts Twitter account after abusive war of words with Daily Mail reporter

Alec Baldwin has today shut his Twitter account following war of words with Daily Mail that carried a story with allegation his wife was tweeting during the funeral of James Gandolfini.

Meanwhile, Baldwin's pregnant wife Hilaria has kept her account active and tweeted she "would like a real apology."

The Daily Mail reporter posted time stamps promotional tweets when others were paying respects to Gandolfini.

The volatile actor unleashed some verbal abuse against the reporter who carried the story. Later the byline of the reporter was removed from the website.

The least nasty abusing sentence from Baldwin was: "My wife and I attend a funeral to pay our respects to an old friend, and some toxic Brit writes this (expletive) trash."
