London, England, United Kingdom (Celebrity News Service) - Amy Winehouse passed away on Saturday and an autopsy performed Monday was deemed "inconclusive," according to London police officials. A cause of death is not yet established. Officials will now await the toxicology test results, which takes two to four weeks. There were no drugs found at the scene, although Winehouse struggled with them for years and was a habitual user. The police, which said she died alone in her bed and with no foul play involved, released her body to her family following the conclusion of the autopsy. Winehouse's family is planning a private funeral for Tuesday. They also visited the crowd which had gathered outside of her home where they setup a memorial with flowers and cards. Her father, Mitch Winehouse, thanked them for the support. "Amy was about one thing and that was love," Mitch Winehouse said. "Her whole life was devoted to her family and her friends and to you guys as well. I can't tell you what this means to us. It really is making this a lot easier for us." Winehouse was found dead in her home on Saturday. She died at the age of 27, joining a group of other influential artists who passed away at 27-years-old, including Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, and Jimi Hendrix. |
