Anne Hathaway Gives a Touching Speech

May 12, 2014 Anne Hathaway, Michelle Obama

Anne Hathaway and her husband Adam Shulman are lending some celebrity power to the #BringBackOurGirls campaign in Los Angeles.

The protest was in the light of nearly 300 missing Nigerian schoolgirls who were kidnapped weeks ago.

Anne showed her concern and was seen addressing a group of protestors in a clip while shouting, "These Nigerian girls are part of the 5 percent who are able to seek an education, they were taken from their beds in the middle of the night by cowards, cowards who tell them that girls do not deserve an education. Do we agree with these cowards?" she asks the crowd before yelling, "What do you want?" as the crowd replies "Our girls!"

"Bring back our girls and make a brighter future. Girls should not be afraid to get an education. Girls should be free to get an education. We agree with this. We want our girls to come back," she says before the crowd starts chanting "Bring back our girls."

On Wednesday, Michelle Obama has uploaded a shot of herself on Twitter holding a sign #BringBackOurGirls hashtag and titles her pic, "Our prayers are with the missing Nigerian girls and their families. It's time to #BringBackOurGirls."
