Anne Hathaway's dream of starring in "Glee" comes true

Starring in an upcoming episode of "Glee" will soon be a dream come true for actress Anne Hathaway.

The show's co-creator and writer, Ryan Murphy , revealed to E! News on Sunday at the Golden Globe Awards that the "Love and Other Drugs" star will appear as the lesbian aunt for Chris Colfer's character Kurt _ a role dreamed up by Hathaway herself.

During an interview on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" last November "The Devil Wears Prada" star said she, ""In my head I've written a part for myself on 'Glee.' That's so arrogant and obnoxious, but I would want to play Kurt's long-lost aunt who comes back to help him deal with his sexuality, " she explained to Fallon. "And I would sing 'You Are Not Alone' from Stephen Sondheim's epic show "Into the Woods.'"

Murphy went on to say that many other A-listers like Hathaway have pitched him their ideas about starring in the popular show.

"They always do," he said. "I can't even think of who. But it's so sweet. I think they support the show because it's about the arts."

Who could blame them? For two years in a row, "Glee" won its second Golden Globes Sunday night for Best Comedy or Musical award, and Colfer and Jane Lynch, who stars as ruthless cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester, each won their own Golden Globes in the supporting category.

Hathaway will join a group of celebrities who have walked the halls at McKinley High, including Neil Patrick Harris, Britney Spears, Gwyneth Paltrow and comedian legend Carol Burnett.
