Anthony Hopkins Charmed His Film's Cast And Crew By Painting Their Pictures

September 17, 2009

Sir Anthony Hopkins charmed the cast and crew of his latest film by painting pictures for them. The Oscar-winning Welsh actor - best known for playing cannibal serial killer Hannibal Lecter in three films - won over everyone from his co-stars to the make-up team when he showered them with personalized gifts.

A source on the set of the film - an untitled production from director Woody Allen - said: "He has to be the nicest guy in showbiz. During filming he flew off for a weekend break to Italy and came back baring presents for everyone."

"He bought silk scarves for all the make-up girls and even painted them a picture each."

Anthony, 72, stars in the film - which is being made in London - alongside an all-star cast including "Slumdog Millionaire" beauty Freida Pinto, "King Kong" actress Naomi Watts, Antonio Banderas and "W" actor Josh Brolin.

Anthony is also said to be keeping his co-stars and the crew amused on set.

The source added to Britain's Daily Express newspaper: "He keeps everyone laughing with his proper dad-style jokes. He's so funny."
