Avril Lavigne's divorce from Deryck Whibley is affecting her professional life. The pop punk singer's album, produced by her soon-to-be ex-husband, was supposed to hit the market last November, but it looks like it would take months before it gets finished.

Lavigne, 25, separated from the Sum 41 musician, 29, in September, when her tentatively titled acoustic album "Pink Crust" was already 75 percent done.

Things apparent got ugly in November when Whibley's attorney insisted that Lavigne should pay for spousal support but she is refused to do so.

A source told the Toronto Sun that the first eight songs in the album came out easily when the Ontario native couple were still together, but now they are finding it "terribly frustrating" to finish the last three or four songs.

They are reportedly trying to compromise a production schedule to get the delayed album done in time for a mid-2010 release.

Lavigne and Whibley married in July 2006 in California after dating for two years.
