Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean enters rehab again

Backstreet Boy A.J. McLean has entered rehab to treat his substance abuse problems. The singer, who celebrated his 33rd birthday last Sunday, has apparently been "out of control" in the last few months.

According to TMZ sources, his erratic behavior was interfering with the group's plans for upcoming tour with the reunited '80s boyband New Kids on the Block. He allegedly appeared under the influence on a Backstreet Boys cruise last month.

In a statement released by A.J., the crooner admitted that he has checked into a facility, but did not disclose any specific reason.

He said, "For personal reasons, I've checked myself into a rehab clinic. With 2011 being a busy year for Backstreet, I want to be healthy and perform and sing for people at my very best and happiest. None of this will affect our current tour plans and I look forward to seeing everyone really soon!"

"Thank you for all your support and respecting my family and friends privacy during this time."

McLean is no stranger to rehab. He sought help back in 2001 and in 2002 after suffering from drug and alcohol addiction.
