Blur Frontman Damon Albarn Thinks The British Are Unhealthy Because Of The Way They Drink Their Tea

Damon Albarn thinks British people are unhealthy because of their tea drinking. The Blur frontman - who made several visits to China while researching his opera "Monkey: Journey to the West" - believes Western people could learn a lot by adopting Eastern habits.

He told BANG Showbiz: "The thing I like most about Chinese culture is how different it is to ours. I love the food and I especially love the tea, I'm down with their teas. I think if we drank tea without milk or sugar like they do, we'd all be a lot healthier and more lively."

However, Damon admits he fears Chinese traditions risk being lost because of Western influences.

He added: "There are great things from China. They're incredibly hard working. If you drink green tea every day, you're healthier, no question. Their diet is traditionally much better balanced. Unfortunately, that will change with Western influence."
