Brangelina Limit Their Kids' TV Watching Time So They Won't Ask For Toys

December 17, 2008

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie stop their children watching television so they don't ask for toys. The couple limit the time their six kids - Maddox, seven, Pax, five, Zahara, three, Shiloh two and five-month-old twins Knox and Vivienne - spend watching cartoons in order to minimize their exposure to commercials.

Brad explained: "The kids don't ask for big gifts for the simple reason that they don't see a lot of American cartoon television, which is packed with all those manipulative commercials for big toys that look so fantastic."

"When they do see that stuff is when they start asking for toys, so we figure if they don't see them they won't know they're there."

The "Burn After Reading" star added he and his family are creative when it comes to finding Christmas presents and try not to be too extravagant.

He said in an interview with Britain's Hello! magazine: "We have gifts, but we try to keep the money spent to a minimum. The rule is that everyone's got to make something for someone else, you've got to put time into it."

"Then, when they give to each other, it's really sweet. The gift-giving is a very nice time for us."
