Bristol Palin Moves On In "Dancing With The Stars," Man Shoots TV In Anger

Many fans of "Dancing with the Stars" were not happy with last night's judges' decision to keep Bristol Palin on the show. R&B singer Brandy and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy were eliminated in Nov. 16's episode.

Some viewers are criticizing Bristol Palin's longevity on this season of the dancing competition reality show, and according to Palin, certain dancers are giving her the cold shoulder, as well. There's no word on whether this cold shoulder could be as a result of her recent PSA with Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino.

"Maks (Chmerkovskiy) does not like me. He thinks I don't deserve to be here because I'm not the best dancer," Palin told In Touch magazine. "The show is all about taking someone who has never performed, never danced and turning them into a dancer," she explains. "I guarantee I am the most improved. I really do work my butt off!"

And work her "butt off" she did - she beat out Brandy and Chmerkovskiy and will move on to the finals. When the decision was announced that Palin and her partner Mark Ballas were moving on to the next round, the audience erupted in applause, but also a chorus of boos. The judges even seemed shocked that Brandy was going home - they voted her to the top of the leaderboard.

"People vote and their voices count," Chmerkovskiy said afterward. "This has been an amazing journey."

While many people were upset by the news of Palin moving on in the competition, one Wisconsin man took it particularly hard, and showed his anger by shooting his television on Tuesday night.

According to reports, 67-year-old Steven Cowan of Vermont, Wisconsin shot his TV because he felt that the only reason Palin was kept on the show was because of her mother, Alaska governor Sarah Palin. Upon finding out that Brandy was going home and Palin would be competing against Jennifer Grey and Kyle Massey, Cowan allegedly loaded his shotgun, blasted the television, and then pointed the gun towards his wife, who escaped injury.

The home was surrounded by police officers who convinced Cowan to calm down and come out of the house. He could face up to ten years in prison if he is convicted.
