Britain's Zara Phillips' Boyfriend Says He Will Marry Her When The Right Time Comes

Britain's Zara Phillips' boyfriend has confirmed they will marry. Rugby player Mike Tindall, who has been dating the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth for six years, insists the pair will tie the knot when they can find the time.

Referring to Zara's equestrian contests - she is the reigning eventing world champion - he said: "I don't think it is about whether we will get married but when. There is no doubt that I love Zara but it has to be the right time."

"She is so busy competing and I am touring - we often don't even manage to get away on holiday together. And yes it probably would be a white wedding - although sometimes I can see the attraction of sneaking away without telling anyone."

Mike was speaking at the wedding of his rugby player friend Iain Balshaw's wedding to Kate Davies.

Mike is Iain and Kate's daughter Hope's godfather, and the newlyweds claim he will be brilliant father when the time comes.

Mike, 30, admits he has thought about starting a family, but is keen to ensure he enters into parenthood at exactly the right time.

He explained to Britain's Hello! magazine: "I would like to have children one day but again it's about finding the right time. Zara has a lot of goals she wants to achieve - I'll be retired long before she is. I am quite a traditional guy, so I think I will be doing it the usual way round: marriage first and then children."

Zara and Mike met during the semi-final of the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Australia.
