Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus were among some of the celebrities who gave their stance on gay marriage on none other than new networking site Twitter. Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton posed the question to certain celebs, who replied with their thoughts on the controversial subject.
"Love is love," Spears said in response. "People should be able to do whatever makes you happy!" MTV's "The Hills" star Heidi Montag also responded to the query. Montag, a Christian and a Republican, tells Hilton, "God says in the bible that we should love our neighbor and he created us all as equals. I know in my heart that gays and lesbians should have the same government rights that Spencer and I will when we get married."
Disney star Cyrus responded to Montag, saying she seconds that. "Jesus loves you and your partner and wants you to know how much he cares," Cyrus said in a tweet. "That's like a daddy not loving his little boy because he's gay and that is wrong and very sad! Like I said, everyone deserves to be happy."
The question became a hot topic after Miss California sparked furor with gay supporters after responding to the question during the Miss USA pageant. Hilton, one of the judges at the pageant, responded to her answer on his website by calling the contestant a "dumb ---."
