Britney Spears Wins "Ultimate Choice" Award At "Teen Choice"

August 10, 2009

Britney was the recipient of the "Ultimate Choice" Award at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards at the Gibson Amphitheatre on Sunday. The award is given to celebrate career-spanning achievements.

The ultimate surfboard was preceded by a career montage of Spears, who first hit the "Teen Choice Awards" stage in 1999. "Wow, this is such an honor. Thank you guys so much," Britney said upon receiving her surfboard. "I'm so happy to be here tonight with all of you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much and God bless."

Miley Cyrus was on hand to give the award to Spears. After the show, Cyrus tweeted, "For all the people calling me the 'next Britney,' THANK U. I couldn't ask for a better compliment."

The only previous recipients of the "Ultimate Choice" Award were Mike Myers and Justin Timberlake. But Spears, once again like last year's MTV Video Music Awards appearance, steals the buzz for her awards show win. The 2009 "Teen Choice Awards" air Monday, August 10th on FOX.
