Brooke Shields Wishes She Had Lost Her Virginity Earlier In Life

Brooke Shields wishes she'd had sex sooner. The former "Lipstick Jungle" beauty - who became famous aged 12 playing a prostitute in the movie "Pretty Baby" - says her biggest regret in life was not losing her virginity until she was in her 20s.

She said: "I think I would have lost my virginity earlier than I did at the age of 22. I had the public and all this pressure, and I wish I had just gotten it over with in the beginning when it was sort of OK."

The twice-married actress - who raises two children with husband Chris Henchy - also wishes she had been more confident with her body when she was growing up.

She added to America's Health magazine: "I think I would have been much more in touch with myself."

"I think I wouldn't have had issues with weight. I carried this protective 20 lbs of weight in college. It was all connected."

The 43-year-old star recently admitted she forgets she is not in her 20s anymore when considering upcoming movie roles.

She said: "For years, I was the youngest person on the set, and it occurred to me recently that I wasn't 26! I'd read a script and say, 'Oh, that's a great character, that's something I'd love to do.'"

"And they'd say, 'Um, no, we're thinking of you for the mother.' And then I'd say, 'Oh, of course! Of course! I knew that.'"
