Brother Of The Woman Found Dead Outside Paula Abdul's House Blames The "AI" Judge For Crushing Sister's Dreams

November 14, 2008

The brother of the woman found dead outside Paula Abdul's house earlier this week is blaming the "American Idol" judge for sending his sister on a downward spiral.

30-year-old Paula Goodspeed was found dead in her car parked near Abdul's Los Angeles home on Tuesday. The media have discovered that she was a big fan of the singer/dancer and that she had auditioned for the hit talent show in 2005, only to have her dreams "crushed" after she was rejected early on.

Goodspeed sang "Proud Mary" at the tryout, earning scathing comments from the judges. Randy Jackson called her performance "terrible" and Simon Cowell mocked her orthodontic braces.

Abdul, who was considered the most kind-hearted of the judges, simply said she was "speechless" and that was "not a great thing."

Goodspeed's brother, Charles McIntyre, told the NY Post that Abdul "didn't speak up for her" and that she "let everyone take her down."

He told the news website, "She [Abdul] said she was 'speechless,' when she could have said something in her defense."

Goodspeed had been an admirer of the singer, even showing off her life-size drawings she made of Abdul.

People magazine had learned that Goodspeed had changed her first name from Sandra to Paula. Niece Sonja McIntyre said she had it changed about 16 years ago and that it has nothing to do with Abdul, Goodspeed "just liked the name Paula."
