Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN Entertainment) - Catherine Zeta-Jones recently spent time in a "mental health facility" to treat her bipolar disorder, her rep says.

According to People, Zeta-Jones sought treatment for herself following the stressful year she's had as husband Michael Douglas battled cancer.

"After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check in to a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her bipolar II disorder," said the actress' rep.

The 41-year-old star spent about five days in the undisclosed center and is no longer being treated.

"She's feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week this week on her two upcoming films," the rep added.

She's attached to star in two films: "Playing the Field," opposite Gerard Butler, Jessica Biel, and Uma Thurman, and "Lay the Favorite," with Bruce Willis. Zeta-Jones hasn't appeared on screen in the U.S. since 2007's "No Reservations."

Zeta-Jones treatment comes after a trying time for the star and her family. Along with husband Douglas' cancerous throat tumor, which has since been treated, Zeta-Jones' stepson Cameron Douglas was sentenced to five years in prison last year after pleading guilty to drug charges.
