Celebrities react to the death of Donna Summer

Millions of music lovers both young and old have been sending messages of condolence to the family and friends of Donna Summer who died yesterday at the age of 63.

Reports have emerged that Donna said she could have gotten cancer after 9/11.She died in Florida and her fans have spoken highly about her achievements. President Barack Obama said ‘the music industry has lost a legend far too soon’.

Barbra Streisand who has known Donna for a long time took to twitter to send her condolences. She tweeted “I loved doing the duet with her. She had an amazing voice and was so talented. It’s so sad”. 70-year old Barbra who is an eight time Grammy winner added that she was shocked to hear about Donna’s demise.

Dolly Parton said “I cannot believe we’ve lost another wonderful singer. Donna like Whitney, had one of the greatest voices ever. I loved her records. The 66-year old said Donna was very talented no wonder she will always be the disco queen. Parton said she will be missed and remembered.

Another statement come from Elton John. Elton said Donna’s records sound as good today as they ever did. He said it is a disgrace that she was never inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Elton said Donna was his personal friend and he will miss her greatly.

Aretha Franklin was full of praise for the fallen Legend. She said Donna kept the disco jumping .She said Donna was a delight to the industry. Chaka Khan and Janet Jackson said they will miss her very much. Janet added that Donna changed the world of music with her beautiful voice and incredible talent.

Ryan Seacrest tweeted “I remember sitting in the front seat of my mom’s Toyota while she sang Donna Summer’s ‘she worked for the money’. Ellen DeGeneres tweeted that she was a big fan and even picked Donna’s song in her show.
