Celebrities show support for eliminated "Idol" contestant Pia Toscano

April 8, 2011 Ashton Kutcher, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Alba, Rita Wilson, Tom Hanks, Pia Toscano

Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN Entertainment) - Pia Toscano seemed like a frontrunner before she was voted off of "American Idol" on Thursday. But while America got it wrong, the rest of Hollywood has shown plenty of support for the 22-year-old singer.

The judges and crowd showed, well, anger, including judge Jennifer Lopez, who said she was shocked, angry, and otherwise left speechless.

But plenty of Hollywood stars took to Twitter to show their own shock and dismay at losing Toscano, a favorite from the beginning with her powerhouse vocals and stunning looks.

"Pia should have won the whole thing! I'm not watchin Idol anymore," wrote "Jersey Shore" star Snooki. "I'm with JLO on this one"

She may not be alone. Apparently they're avid "Idol" watchers at Oscar-winner Tom Hanks' household. He and his wife Rita Wilson both chimed in on Twitter.

"Don't have an IDOL habit, but how could the USA vote Pia off? I may be done for the season!" Hanks wrote.

"Was Pia punked? How did she get voted off of American Idol? That is not OKAY!" Wilson said.

Speaking of "Punk'd," Ashton Kutcher was among the viewers upset at Toscano, who had the pipes and poise to possibly take the whole thing before surprisingly leaving the show in ninth place.

"Who are the people that vote on American idol? That's just crazy! That Pia girl is dope! #almostcriminal," Kutcher wrote.

Jessica Alba, who starred opposite Kutcher in "Valentine's Day," agreed. "Who's mad about Pia? I think she's got a promising career ahead of her. Girl can sing her butt off and she's stunning," she wrote.

Toscano has got plenty of fans already so let's look at the bright side of her leaving so soon. Less time will be wasted before she gets into the studio with producers to work on her debut album.
