Charlotte Church To Return To Classical Music

April 15, 2008

Charlotte Church is plotting a return to classical music.

The Welsh star is reportedly having secret singing lessons in a bid to rediscover the remarkable voice which first catapulted her to stardom at the age of 12.

A source said: "Charlotte wants to get back to the songs which launched her career in the first place."

"She is fed up with the pop stuff she's done and the scene has moved on since then anyway."

Charlotte burst onto the music scene in 1998 with her debut album 'Voice of an Angel', which featured her singing a series of arias and traditional pieces. She went on to release four more hugely successful records over the next four years, selling a massive 10 million albums worldwide.

In 2005, she ditched her classical sound to make pop record 'Tissues and Issues', which featured hit single 'Crazy Chick'. The album reached a disappointing number 14 on the UK album charts.

In 2006, Charlotte left her record label Sony in what was described as a mutual decision.

Charlotte is in a long-term relationship with Welsh rugby star Gavin Henson, with who she has a six-month-old daughter Ruby.
