Cher's Drunken Fan Arrested For Harassment At Nashville Nightclub

June 26, 2008

Pop star Cher's drunk fan had been arrested after allegedly harassing the "Believe" singer at a Nashville nightclub Wednesday morning.

According to the Nashville police, a 36-year-old man named Calvin Hutton Houghland approach the 62-year-old multi-award winning artist at Tootsies Orchid Lounge. However, the club management asked him to leave the nightspot.

But Houghland remained undeterred and returned shortly. He sneaked into the VIP section and grabbed Cher by the waist.

Bouncers came to the rescue and ejected the drunken fan out of the club. Houghland called the cops and complained of assault.

The police found Houghland to be in the wrong after he failed a field sobriety test. Cher declined to press charges so the man could have walked home free, but he asked to be taken into custody so the police obliged.

His bail was set at $3,000.
