Supermodel Christie Brinkley will soon be able to move on with her life. A Long Island judge has set a trial date, beginning July 2, for Brinkley and estranged husband Peter Cook's divorce.
The couple appeared in a Suffolk County courtroom Tuesday for a tense conference, although they avoided eye contact with each other. Cook's alleged affair with then-teenager Diana Bianchi became public two years ago, resulting in tense conditions between Brinkley and Cook.
During open court when the judge discussed the issues to be addressed during the trial, both Brinkley and Cook remained stone-faced. The issues included custody of their children, child support and distribution of assets, which includes several homes, three boats - including a yacht named Sweet Freedom - a model airplane and seven watches.
Brinkley flashed her mega-watt smile when she walked out of the courtroom, and when reporters asked her how she felt about the supportive greeting she received from people as she entered the courthouse she said "it was heartening."
