Christie Brinkley Reacts On Ex-Husband's TV Interview

October 13, 2008

Former supermodel Christie Brinkley wasn't pleased when ex-husband Peter Cook appeared on Friday on TV. She is considering legal options for Cook's breach of confidentiality agreement.

Cook appeared on Barbara Walter's "20/20" show for an interview and talked about his failed marriage with Brinkley.

He told Walters during the interview, "This was never about money. This was about me having access to my children. That's it," referring to the divorce proceeding that left his reputation in shatters.

Brinkley, 54, had sought to file a restraining order last week to prevent her ex from taking their children in a scheduled custody visit, fearing the kids would be able to watch the interview. However, the request was not granted by a New York judge.

Her attorney, Robert Stephan Cohen, releases a statement regarding the interview on Friday:

"Christie Brinkley initially sought to settle this matter privately. The state of NY is an open court system. It was Mr. Cook who sought to lock the courtroom to the media. Judge Cohen applied the law and Peter's request to bar the media was denied. This was not Ms. Brinkley's doing, it was the law."

"Mr. Cook has chosen to breach the confidentiality agreement in the divorce settlement, a provision agreed upon in court to protect the children and allow them to put this ordeal behind them."

Cohen adds that his client is planning to explore her legal options.
