Christie Brinkley's Request To Restrain Ex-Husband Peter Cook Denied

October 10, 2008

Former supermodel Christie Brinkley's request to restrain ex-husband Peter Cook has been denied by a New York judge.

Brinkley, 54, filed the request in New York's Suffolk County Court on Wednesday as an attempt to prevent Cook's visitation with their children this weekend due to his interview with Barbara Walters on "20/20" on Friday.

Her lawyer said in a statement, "The court order mandates that since Peter Cook has the children this weekend, his parenting has to be away from his home and he can't expose them to the 20/20 broadcast. Christie Brinkley's sole concern is to protect her children."

However, their request was denied.

Cook's attorney, James Winkler, told People magazine, "The judge denied her request to suspend visitation. Mr. Cook did agree to take the children out of the area on a little trip this weekend and that he would not expose the children to that interview, which he had no intention of doing anyway."

Brinkley and her fourth husband Cook was married in 1996. They filed for divorce in September 2006, which became a tabloid fodder during the summer of 2008 when the proceedings were being held.
