Christina Aguilera blames ex, disgruntled employees on intervention

New York, NY, United States (AHN Entertainment) - Christina Aguilera became defensive of her shenanigans in the past months, blaming a rumored intervention on "ex, disgruntled employees." The new "The Voice" judge stopped by "The Today Show" Tuesday morning to promote her new gig, but the topic quickly focused on her muck ups.

Aguilera, who has had a series of personal and professional blunders during the past months following her divorce from Jordan Bratman, wasn't able to dodge questions about her "tough times" when asked by host Matt Lauer.

But instead of admitting to failure, the 30-year-old mother of one blamed her antics to former, bitter employees.

Lauer said, "There have been some tough times this year - the National Anthem thing, the fall at the Grammys, the divorce, the public intoxication. There was a time where people, your friends, the people who love you the most, tried to intervene in your life. Is that true or is that an exaggeration?"

Aguilera claimed that being in the business for so long that she had garnered some "ex, disgruntled employees along the way. Whenever things happen like this to you, some people just want to kick you when you're down."

"Right now I feel that I've found my true friends and people who are really there for me and have stuck by me and have just supported me. When you're going through a hard time, you don't need people judging you and ridiculing you. The people that are around you are going to be the ones to support you and love you through whatever difficult time you're going through."

But apparently, Lauer thought Aguilera was playing too much of a victim. Not satisfied with her answer, he said, "But you did have those people, too. You had the friends, because there were people who were not attacking you, who were genuinely concerned about you."

Aguilera tried to laugh it off, by shooting back at Lauer, "Well, only I know that," and insisting that she has been in the business for so long that she knows when people are really her friends or just creating "drama" of allegedly saving her from herself.
