Cindy Crawford's Extortionist Sentenced

March 9, 2010 Cindy Crawford, Rande Gerber

Supermodel Cindy Crawford's extortionist has been ordered to spend two years in prison. A German court jailed Edis Kayalar, 26,  for trying to blackmail the catwalk beauty and her husband Rande Gerber out of 100,000 euros (\$135,000).

Kayalar threatened to sell a photo of the model's 7-year-old daughter to the media.

The picture, which was taken by a former nanny, featured the minor gagged and tied to a chair.

He surrendered to German authorities in November after he was deported from the U.S.

Judge Joachim Spieth has been quoted by Germany's 'The Local' as saying, "The attempt at blackmail was well-advanced until it failed." He sentenced Kayalar, who has previous drug offense charges, with the maximum sentence of two years.
