Clay Aiken's Fans Show Support For His Rumored Fatherhood

Fans of former "American Idol" runner-up Clay Aiken are sticking by him after news surfaced last week that he is going to become a father. Aiken's fans, known as "Claymates," have taken to blogs and Internet sites writing messages of support and congratulations for their favorite singer.

Aiken is said to be fathering a child with music producer Jaymes Foster, who is his best friend. Jaymes is the sister of producer David Foster. David had confirmed that the pregnancy is true although reps for Aiken have not commented.

Many of the Aiken fan sites are waiting for confirmation from Clay himself, or Team Clay, as they call it. In the meantime, fans across the country are posting congratulations about a baby Clay coming into the world. Many fans are predicting the baby will have red hair and "pipes like Dad."

While some fans have expressed their shock at the strange way Aiken will become a father if it is true, they are still supportive. Most have commented that they know he has always wanted to be a father.

Aiken, 29, is said to have impregnated Jaymes through artificial insemination. Jaymes and Aiken became friends when Aiken was on "American Idol" and she was an executive producer on his album "A Thousand Different Ways."
