CNS Survey: Michael Phelps's Fans Want Him To Find A Nice Girlfriend

All eyes were on Michael Phelps last week as the swimmer broke Olympic and world records and was named Greatest Olympian of All Time -- and all eyes are on something else now: Phelps's love life.

He might be done swimming for now, but that doesn't mean there is any less interest in Golden Boy Phelps. Blogs and news outlets are buzzing about who might be Phelps's love interest, a fact that Phelps claims he is keeping to himself.

That hasn't kept the rumor mills from circulating, with reports saying he is dating U.S. swimmer Amanda Beard, English model Lily Donaldson and now Aussie swimmer Stephanie Rice.

Beard strongly denied reports that she is dating Phelps. "I've never even kissed him," said Beard, who has posed for Playboy and done a nude poster for PETA.

British beauty Donaldson also squashed rumors that she and Phelps are an item. According to the Australian Herald Sun, a shirtless Phelps got friendly with Rice at a promotion on Tuesday, however, and it set tongues wagging.

Phelps' comment was: "I've had a lot of water, now it's just time to relax a bit."

While his comment may certainly have been taken out of context, Aussie swimming insiders did say the pair were very close at a party organized by Ian Thorpe on Monday night. Blogging sites are also carrying pictures of Phelps cozying up to a dark-haired woman with comments hinting that it may be Rice.

So what do Phelps's fans think of all the interest in his love life? Celebrity News Service conducted a poll that showed fans want their favorite Olympian to be happy in the water, and out. "I'd like to see him with a nice girlfriend," one fan said.
