Cruise Thanks Indian Fans For Birthday Wishes On Twitter

July 6, 2010 Cameron Diaz, Tom Cruise, India

Overwhelmed with the outpour of birthday wishes for him on Facebook and Twitter, Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise Tuesday thanked his fans for all the love and kindness they had shown him as he turned 48 recently.

Special thanks were sent to his fans in India, as Cruise posted on his Twitter page, "A huge THANK YOU to the wonderful people of India for their birthday wishes and kindness… I'll see you at the movies Friday." Cruise referred to his latest flick "Knight and Day," which released Friday.

In the past, Cruise, known for his stylish action flicks like Top Gun and the Mission Impossible series, had said that he wanted to visit India some day.

Meanwhile, his film, to be released in India on July 9, is a comic-action caper where Cruise and Cameron Diaz play a fugitive couple racing across the globe amidst betrayals and changing relationships.

Diaz, while talking to the press, said that she accepted to act opposite Cruise in this movie because she wanted to get away from the grief that had engulfed her after her father's demise in 2008. Diaz was devastated when her father Emilio succumbed to pneumonia in April 2008 while the 37-year-old actor was filming her movie, "My Sister's Keeper."

In her words, "I was in need of relief."
